Sunshine Coast
Visit BC's spectacular Sunshine Coast! Catch a glimpse of a bald eagle or white-tailed deer and explore the 86 kilometres of scenic oceanfront, lakes and inlets
Your journey to Vancouver's secret paradise begins as you board the BC Ferry at Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver.
As the passenger and car ferry sets sail, take in the spectacular sights of Bowen Island and the views of the Garibaldi Mountain Range. And if you're lucky enough, you may even spot a pod of orca whales or other marine life. The 40-minute ferry ride brings you to Langdale on B.C.'s Sunshine Coast — a tourism region only accessible by ferry, with no roads into Vancouver.
The Coast is home to many seaside towns including Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay, Pender Harbour, and further west to Powell River. Each town has its own quaint charm with strong community spirit.
The Sunshine Coast visitor will enjoy the many recreational pursuits available. Rent a kayak in Halfmoon Bay and paddle the scenic coastline towards Secret Cove and Pender Harbour, or beachcomb for that perfect piece of driftwood.
If shopping is of interest, there are many farmer markets and artisan displays along the Coast. Home to many accomplished Canadian artists, you'll find many pottery pieces, oil on canvas and watercolour paintings and much more.
Whether it's a daytrip from Vancouver or an extended stay, a visit to the Sunshine Coast is a memorable Pacific Nothwest experience.
